The following is my assessment of the best-ever writers I’ve had the pleasure to read. Each of them possesses a fantastic, colorful, entertaining vocabulary (“Send lawyers, guns and money!”). A superb ability to inspire, and compel the reader to continue reading (“I can’t put this book down!”). An effective teacher who clearly and simply illuminates important concepts (“What an epiphany!”). An author who is loved and cherished for many generations — long after their death. A writer who composes terms or words or phrases that become a common cultural means of expressing an important idea (“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!”).
My list of the best writers of all time:
Hunter S. Thompson
John Kenneth Galbraith
John Stuart Mill
John M. Robertson
